The Problem

Your parking strip is costing you money and water.

That narrow strip of grass between your sidewalk and the street is the hardest piece of lawn to keep alive — and the most expensive.

Higher water bills

Your monthly bill keeps climbing while the lawn keeps dying.

Wasted water

Thousands of gallons disappear into a strip that's almost impossible to keep alive.

Constant upkeep

Always browning, full of weeds, and a pain to mow week after week.

Bad curb appeal

A patchy, dying strip drags down the look of your entire home.

Benefits

Why Should You Rip Your Strip?

Utah is one of the driest states in the nation. Replacing your strip lawn with a water-efficient design helps conserve a scarce resource.

Up to $3 per square foot back through Utah Water Savers — plus year-after-year savings on your water bill.

Design Ideas

Beautiful, water-wise designs built for Utah.

Forget the stereotype of "rocks and dead twigs." Our Localscapes® designs use layered plantings, varied textures, decorative stone, and thoughtful spacing to create something that genuinely looks better than the grass it replaced.

Layered Perennial Garden

Style 01

Layered Perennial Garden

Mounded soil, clusters of color, and decorative stone. Plants chosen for staggered bloom times so something is always flowering from spring through fall.

Modern Stone & Groundcover

Style 02

Modern Stone & Groundcover

A clean, contemporary look pairing low-spreading groundcover with bold pavers and edging stone. Polished from the curb without ever needing a mower.

Native Pollinator Meadow

Style 03

Native Pollinator Meadow

Utah-native grasses, sage, yarrow, and rabbitbrush built to thrive on almost no supplemental water. Friendly to bees, butterflies, and the rebate program.
